When Love Turns Into A Reckoning by Jennifer Rose Kassidy
When Love Turns Into a Reckoning When I first sat down to write Jenster, I knew I wasn’t just telling a love story. I was writing about that heady rush of euphoria—the way someone’s presence can feel like the universe has conspired just for you. I remember those early days so vividly: every glance shimmered with promise, every word felt like freedom. For a time, I felt untamed, alive, and invincible. But what begins as euphoria can quietly slip into obsession. I searched for answers that were never given, clinging to fragments and chasing clarity that never came. The more I sought him, the more I lost myself. Looking back, I can see how the fantasy became a shadow that consumed me. Disillusionment came like a cold wind. The pedestal I had built crumbled, and with it, the illusion of who I thought he was. It wasn’t the betrayal or even the lies that cut deepest—it was the realization that somewhere along the way, I had abandoned myself. And yet, that reckoning became the turning point. Jenster was born from that collapse, not as a victim, but as the part of me that refused to stay silent. Writing this book has been about reclaiming that voice and showing that transformation often begins right at the edge of despair.
